bodily functions

Emma pooped this morning, while sitting in her swing by the fire place. I was in the kitchen, making breakfast, and Jason was in his office paying bills. We BOTH heard her. For those of you who havent been to my house, the office is in the front of the house, as far away from the living room as he could go except our closet. We were both making noise and still heard her poop. Oh my gosh she is loud.

Also, a couple days ago, she burped and it sounded like Scooby saying "ruh-row!

These are some of the amusing things Emma does. :)

quickly

This will be short, because I am cold, a little tired, and determined to start going to bed earlier. Also, because I think going to bed earlier will help.

See, I have this problem, my milk supply is not keeping up with Emma's demands. I have had to supplement her every day this week. I am still taking my Fenugreek, drinking water (though I will start drinking more), eating a lot, and nursing on demand, but she stays fussy because she is still hungry. She took nearly eight ounces from Jason last night while I was at the gym.

So pray for us, that I can figure out what is best to make sure Emma's tummy is full.

what do you think?

Do we look alike?

Emma is wearing my dress, that mom made for me as a baby, and laying on my blanket made by a great grandmother.

screaming

Emma's had a rough night. Shes done this a couple of times now, where she sleeps peacefully then wakes with screaming for no reason. I think that she may be having bad dreams, because it happens several times in the same night, but weeks apart.
That said, I am tired today. Andie is on her way this afternoon to stay the weekend, it will be nice to have her here but I hope I can get a nap before she arrives.

My point: please pray for Emma, and whatever is bothering her. I don't like her to seem so scared.

kid friendly

Emma has found her hand, and learned to suck to sooth herself. She has started reaching for toys, and a couple times has tried to get them to her mouth. She doesn't mind tummy time if she can watch her mobile spin and is propped up on her baby boppy.

But her best trick so far is falling asleep. When she gets tired, I can lay her down, and she goes to sleep on her own in a few minutes. It is wonderful.

We are both recovering from our colds, and feeling much better. Emma still has off days when she just wants to fuss, but they are getting farther apart. Jason and I had small group last night, and there are nine kids between the five couples. Emma started her usual fussing because it was evening and loud, and once I got her clam and falling asleep I sat and noticed that all the kids were a little more wild than normal and it was wonderful. Emma is the youngest of the babies by just three weeks, there are three all just a few weeks apart. I am terrible at making friends and very quiet, but I really enjoy our group.

All that to say that things are becoming easier every day. My new goal is to start baby proofing my house, because I know it will take me several months to get it done, and I want to feel comfortable having people over with their kids. When I'm finished, it will probably be warm outside so maybe we can have a bbq with the babies to celebrate. :)
